A boulder should look like it grew there
Stone sitting on top of the dirt looks dropped off. We set boulders down into the ground so they sit the way they would in nature, with the best face turned toward the house or the water.
Rip-rap holds a bank
Water takes a bank apart one storm at a time. Rip-rap breaks up that energy before it reaches the soil. The stone gets sized and set along the waterline so the edge stays where it is supposed to.
Crushed-shell driveways
Shell packs down into a firm surface and drains instead of puddling. We build it up, level it off, and give it an edge so it stays a driveway rather than creeping into the grass.
